Clients Rights

  • Exceptions to confidentiality that are legally mandated, in general terms, require that we: (1) notify relevant others if we judge that a client has an intention to ham1 themselves or another individual, (2)report any incidence of suspected child abuse, neglect or molestation in order to protect the children involved;, and (3) in legal cases, the court may order our records or our testimony.

Ask questions or gain information about the counseling process

  • Confidentiality that is protected by both ethical and South Carolina law,
  • Right to inspect our records of your treatment.

Refuse diagnostic procedures or methods

  • A signed “Release of information” form with the name and address of those individuals (e.g., family members, physicians, psychiatrists, children’s teacher, etc.) that you may wish us to contact.
